Matteo Grattarola had last made the regular rider roster in the X-Trial World Championship in 2013 before his return in 2021 following a successful switch to Beta. A revelation last season at 34 years of age, he claimed his first podiums at X-Trial Nice and Barcelona, but narrowly missed out on a first medal ranking with four overall. With just seventeen X-Trials under his belt, Grattarola now moves to Vertigo with a place on the World Championship podium a realistic target.
