France will have two representatives in X-Trial's second Round
Gas Gas rider Hugo Dufrese will make his first appearance of the 2024 FIM X-Trial World Championship as he has been announced as a Wild Card for X-Trial Chalon-Sur-Saône on 15th March.
Dufrese made his debut at X-Trial Vendée last year, where he claimed the scalp of Luca Petrella to take eighth place. The Frenchman will join Toby Martyn (Montesa) and Benoit Bincaz (Sherco) who finished sixth and seventh at the opening Round of the 2024 season in Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi a month ago and have been nominated again to extend their season.
The top five riders in the World Championship Standings after each Round are guaranteed their places at the subsequent event. That means the lead quintet from X-Trial Barcelona – Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team), Jaime Busto (Gas Gas), Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team), Matteo Grattarola (Beta) and Adam Raga (Sherco) – are automatic qualifiers for Chalon-Sur-Saône.
