The older of the Gelabert brothers has already established himself as one of the young veterans among the world elite in trial. He made his World Championship debut in 2018 with an impressive fifth place in his very first event in Montpellier. He followed this with a fourth-place finish in Toulouse and, just 13 days after his debut, secured a second-place podium in Strasbourg. He concluded the season ranked fifth overall in the World Championship standings.
Although various circumstances have limited his continuity at world level in the years since, his record remains remarkable: in 22 World Championship appearances, he has finished in the Top 4 on six occasions.
In the 2024 season, Gelabert competed in the Trial2 World Championship, playing a key role in the development of Honda’s innovative electric project. Riding the Honda RTL Electric, he achieved historic results, including the first-ever world championship victory for an electric trial bike, along with several podium finishes.
His signing with Honda marks a significant step in his career, combining his experience at the highest level with one of the most ambitious and forward-looking projects in modern trial racing.
