The capital of Andorra will host the opening round of an exciting season on Saturday, with a calendar that continues growing
On Saturday, October 4, starting at 6:00 p.m. (local time), Andorra la Vella will host the opening event of the 2026 FIM X-Trial World Championship, which returns to the Pyrenean country to start a season for second time after 2021.
Nineteen-time World Champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) will try to get his fifth victory in what he considers his “home event,” having already won in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024. Since Andorra’s capital became a venue for the World Championship, Bou has only missed out on victory once—back in 2022, when Jaime Busto (GasGas) took the win.
Bou and Busto are clear favourites to fight for the in at the Poliesportiu d’Andorra (Pavelló Toni Martí), but not the only ones. Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team), who has twice stood on the podium here with back-to-back third-place finishes, will aim to improve on those results. These three riders are the only active competitors who have experienced a Top 3 finish in Andorra, as veterans Adam Raga and Jeroni Fajardo have retired.
When making predictions for the podium and the list of the four possible finalists, veterans Benoit Bincaz (Electric Motion) ho is seeking the first-ever final for an electric bike and Matteo Grattarola (Beta), who is always a strong contender, cannot be overlooked.
The other three participants in this first round of the ten-event World Championship, that will finish concludes in Tarragona on April 18, will be facing the six demanding and spectacular sections of Andorra la Vella for the first time. Nonetheless, they will be eager to spring a surprise and showcase the balance and competitiveness fostered by the competition’s rules and its evolution this season. They are Britons Jack Peace (Sherco), Harry Hemingway (Beta), and Italian Francesco Titli (TRRS). Peace has already experienced a final in Tallinn in 2025, while Hemingway (19) and Titli (18) represent the new generation of X-Trial talent making a strong impression on the world stage.
With all these attractions and the unique atmosphere of the Andorran “bombonera,” XTRIALAND promises high drama and excitement. Get your tickets at https://tickets.x-trial.com or follow the action live at FIM-MOTO.TV.
