Toni Bou will debut his 18th world title in Tallinn

The Estonian capital makes its World Championship debut with the penultimate Round of the 2024 season

Estonia and its capital Tallinn welcome the X-Trial World Championship for the first time this Saturday 26th October from 17:00 local time.

Round Six of the 2024 season picks up the action after the visit earlier this month to Andorra la Vella and confirmation of an 18th world title for Toni Bou.  X-Trial Tallinn will therefore provide Bou’s first appearance in competition as the 2024 World Champion.

X-Trial Tallinn has been held for the last two seasons outside of the aegis of the World Championship.  On both occasions Toni Bou was victorious, joined on the podium by Adam Raga and Jaime Busto (GasGas) in 2022, Busto second in 2023 ahead of Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team).

On this occasion the stakes are higher because although the world title itself is settled, the silver medal is still up for grabs with Busto and Marcelli tied on 68 points apiece.  Busto has the advantage with one second place more than his rival which could be important when each rider’s lowest score is subtracted from their total at the end of the season.  The fifth and final transfer spot to X-Trial Pamplona is also in play, with Sherco teammates Benoit Bincaz and Adam Raga separated by just a single point.

Completing the field as Wild Cards: Miquel Gelabert (Vertigo) makes his return for the first time since his brief sabbatical in 2023, while Jack Peace (Sherco) makes his debut at World Championship level.  Hugo Dufrese (GasGas) will step in for Toby Martyn – fourth in the Standings - who has withdrawn from this event.
