The Palau Sant Jordi and Barcelona will host on Sunday the seventh round of the season, celebrating its 49th edition
The X-Trial of Barcelona, taking place next Sunday, February 8, at the Palau Sant Jordi from 5:00 pm (local time), promises to be spectacular and fiercely contested, considering the results of the participant riders. Five of them have already stepped onto the podium this season, and seven have reached at least one final. The only exception is Miquel Gelabert, who will contest his first round of the current Championship, debuting the new version of the Honda RTL Electric. This makes it the third electric-powered model to compete in a round of the FIM X-Trial World Championship, following the GasGas and Electric Motion motorcycles.
World Champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) will be aiming for his 19th victory at the Sant Jordi and to extend his lead in the World Championship, where he currently holds a 34-point advantage over Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) and a 41-point lead over Jaime Busto (GasGas), after accumulating five wins and one second-place finish.
Beta teammates Harry Hemingway and Matteo Grattarola arrive at this event with one podium each. The young British rider finished second in Leeds, battling Bou for the win until the final section, while the experienced Italian claimed third place on the second day in Ponte di Legno.
The other two competitors, Arnau Farré (Sherco) and Hugo Dufrese (Beta), have also reached finals during the 2026 season. Dufrese, who has competed in two rounds, did so in Saint-Denis, while Farré achieved his result in Madrid, his only appearance so far this season.
Taking all these factors into account, the seventh round of the calendar is expected to be thrilling and highly competitive.
Additionally, the Palau Sant Jordi will once again host the FIM Women’s X-Trial Trophy. Reigning champion Berta Abellán (Scorpa) will be looking to repeat last year’s win, with Denisa Pechackova (TRRS) and Andrea Sofia Rabino (Beta), who finished second and third respectively, as her main rivals, alongside Alice Minta (Beta), fourth last year, and debutant Kaytlyn Adshead (Vértigo).
