Spain seeks a new title in Seville

The FIM X-Trial des Nations returns to Spain for the first time since 2008

The Spanish team made up of Toni Bou and Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) starts as the favorite to claim victory at the FIM X-Trial des Nations, which will take place at the Palacio de Deportes San Pablo Sports  on March 14 from 18:00 (local time).

The event, which has not been held annually, returns to Spanish soil for the first time since 2008, when it was staged in Badajoz. So far, it has been held seven times in Spain and seven times in France. Last year, the Palais Nikaïa in Nice hosted the competition. Moreover, this will be the fifth time the event is held in Andalusia, having previously visited Granada (2003), Málaga (2005 and 2006), and Córdoba (2007).

To date, Spain has claimed every title contested - that is, all 14 previous editions of the event. For Toni Bou, this will be his ninth participation in the FIM X-Trial des Nations, while Gabriel Marcelli will compete in his first X-Trial appearance representing a national team.

The two national teams that joined Spain on the podium in Nice will field the same line-ups in Seville. France, which finished second last year, will once again be represented by Benoit Bincaz (Electric Motion) and Hugo Dufrese (Beta). Italy, which placed third, will again compete with Matteo Grattarola (Beta) and Francesco Titli (Montesa). Great Britain, who finished fourth in Nice, will also retain its line-up with Harry Hemingway (Beta) and Jack Peace (Sherco).

The new feature of this edition of the FIM X-Trial des Nations is the return of Team USA to the competition, having last apearance ten years ago. Joshua Roper (GasGas) returns to the event, and Ryon Land (Sherco) will make his debut in an international X-Trial competition.
