Pretalli and Chatagno set to debut in Geneva

Electric machinery makes its first appearance in the FIM X-Trial World Championship

The 2024 staging of X-Trial Geneva will make history with the first electric machinery on show.  The Electric Motion Epure ridden by Frenchman Gaël Chatagno will make its World Championship debut after appearing at Trial Indoor International events in Montpellier and Chambery earlier in the year.

Also making his debut at the Geneva Arena on 4th May will be Noé Pretalli (GasGas) who also appeared in pre-season at Strasbourg in January, after finishing third in last year’s European Championship.   The Wild Card trio for the World Championship’s return to Switzerland is completed by Matteo Grattarola (Beta), representing Italy.

The lone Beta rider will be one of six riders in the field who has competed in every Round so far, with the top five in the World Championship Standings automatically seeded to the line-up alongside him.

Three Rounds into the season, Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) is a comfortable leader having won in Barcelona, Chalon-sur-Saône and Nice, dropping just one point from a possible 66 to lead by 22 points.  Jaime Busto (GasGas) and Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) have been closest to the 17-times World Champion, both making the podium alongside him at each Round.  With back-to-back fourth places, Toby Martyn has consolidated the same ranking in the Championship.

At X-Trial Nice in March, Benoit Bincaz (Sherco) made a crucial move to fifth position in the Standings ahead of Adam Raga on countback which drops the former Champion from the automatic qualification cut.  Fifth position remains the most close-fought in the series Standings.
