Liévin will host the FIM · X-Trial of Nations

Liévin's Arena-Stade Couvert will be the scene of the 2020 meet-up between X-Trial´s best nations

France remains the host nation for the FIM X-Trial of Nations in 2020, with first-time destination Liévin following on from Vendée and Nice as the backdrop for X-Trial´s biggest one-off night of competition.

Spain is the only other country to have staged the X-Trial of Nations, and they will be the team to beat in the coming campaign, although the 2020 hosts will hope to de-throne X-Trial´s biggest world power for the first time.  France have made the Final alongside the winners in each of the last two seasons, losing out by a 22-mark margin in Vendée in 2019, a year on from a 13-mark defeat in Nice.

In 2020 the Arena Stade de Liévin will welcome up to 6,000 spectators to the fourteenth edition of the X-Trial of Nations.  The stadium was constructed in 1986 but renovated between 2007 and 2009 to increase its capacity and mark its status as one of athletics´ most prominent venues.

The well-known international athletics event staged in the Arena Stade has been selected on ten occasions as the best in the world, and the venue has proven itself versatile by hosting the European badminton team Championship as well as major events in basketball and handball.  Now the FIM X-Trial of Nations will be added among the world-class sports that have used this facility.

The Liévin date slots into the FIM X-Trial World Championship calendar on 3rd April 2020, before X-Trial Andorra La Vella but following seven individual dates kicking off in La Réunion on 16th November.
