Gas Gas strengthens with Fajardo and Busto

Jeroni Fajardo and Jaime Busto are the Spanish brand?s winter captures ahead of the X-Trial World Championship

Gas Gas presented in Bilbao today the new line-up with which it will take on the X-Trial World Championship season that is about to get underway, with the first round in Vendée on Sunday 3rd December from 4pm.

Both riders took part in the X-Trial World Championship last season, Jeroni Fajardo finishing third and youngster Busto taking seventh.  And they are the new hopes for Gas Gas, where it is all change ahead of a spectacular new era in the X-Trial World Championship.

Fajardo (32) arrives at Gas Gas from Vertigo with expectations of challenging for one of this season’s top rankings, having made it onto the podium twice with his former team last campaign.  Of his move to Gas Gas, Fajardo said: “I’m very motivated by the start of this season.  We are giving the bike and new team a debut, and my objective is to take a step forward in the X-Trial World Championship.  This move will allow me to continue to improve a great deal over the next two years.  Gas Gas is a fantastic bike and we have great human resources, so I hope to fight for the podium.  I would like to thank Torrot, who have chosen me as a GasGas Trial Factory Team rider.”

Meanwhile Jaime Busto, who turns 20 the day after the opening X-Trial round in Vendéee, joins Gas Gas after developing his professional career within the Repsol Montesa Honda team.  The Spanish star looks forward to the change and to the forthcoming season: “I am very happy and motivated to face this season with the GasGas team.  This is a new challenge for me.  I will be on a new bike, one which I’ve always wanted to ride, and to which I have already adapted to quickly.  It’s also a new team, with a very good atmosphere.  I’m looking forward to the start of the Championship.  We’re going to give it everything and try to finish as high as possible in the X-Trial World Championship that starts in Vendée on Sunday.”

Marc Colomer, Sporting and Competition Director at Gas Gas, is delighted with the team that will defend the brand’s colours in the X-Trial World Championship: “The inclusión of Jaime Busto and Jeroni Fajardo into the Gas Gas Trial Factory Team shows the desire from Torrot and GasGas to return to the highest level in the X-Trial World Championship.  Jaime is a Young rider with a promising future, and Jeroni has a great deal of experience and has spent a lot of time at the top.  Together they will form a really complete team.  The objective is for GasGas to be World Champions again as quickly as possible.  We know that for the moment that’s a tough challenge, since Toni Bou has dominated the discipline in recent seasons.  So we are aware off the difficulty, but that is also a motivation to push us to improve and fight for victory.”
