Clear win of Toni Bou in Madrid

The World Champion wins in the Spanish capital with the same final podium finish of Andorra la Vella

Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) took a clear and convincing victory in the second round of the 2026 FIM X-Trial World Championship season in Madrid, finishing his run in the Final with just two penalty points after already being the best rider in Q1.

Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team) and Jaime Busto (GasGas) joined again the 19-time World Champion on the podium, just as they did in Andorra la Vella, and in the same order. Marcelli had a mathematical chance of winning until the final section, where he arrived with six penalty points to Bou's two, but he picked up two more to finish in second place, a position he had already secured by then, as both five points had left Busto far from the fight for victory.

The fourth-place finisher was Arnau Farré (Sherco), who, just as he did in his only race of  last year in Cahors, once again placed among the top four and fell far of the podium positions from the fourth section.

Fifth place went to Harry Hemingway (Beta), who was unable to get into the final, as he had done in the first round of the year. Behind him was Frenchman Bincaz (Electric Motion), ahead of Italians Francesco Titli (TRRS) and Matteo Grattarola (Beta), whose fall in the fifth section of Q1 left him without a chance due to a severe impact on his left hand.

In the provisional World Championship standings, Bou leads with 40 points, followed by Marcelli with 30 and Busto with 24.

Toni Bou (1st): “It was a perfect X-Trial for me because I rode at a high level and everything went perfectly, as evidenced by the only two penalty points in the final. I've worked hard since the first round of the season with my team, and my injured shoulder has caused me less discomfort, just occasional pain.”

Gabriel Marcelli (2nd): “This second place is very good and positive. I've ridden very well in all the X-Trial rounds and in the end, I finished second, which is a great result for the Championship. I felt very good and the feelings have been very positive regarding the future.”

Jaime Busto (3rd): “I'm very happy because reaching the final was already a good result for me. I haven't ridden since the Andorra race. I had a very good Q1, and in the final I made a few more mistakes, but considering how I got here, I'm happy with my result and performance.”

The third round of the season will be held on Reunion Island (Saint Denis) on November 8th.
