Bou arrives in Saint-Denis as Championship leader

The season reaches its third round in Réunion Island, with Bou, Marcelli, and Busto dominating the previous podiums

The FIM X-Trial World Championship arrives on November 8th at the French Island of Réunion, and one of the main questions is whether, for the third consecutive time this season, we’ll see a repeat of the same podium as in the first two rounds.

So far, Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team), his teammate Gabriel Marcelli, and Jaime Busto (GasGas) have filled the Top 3 — in that exact order — in Andorra la Vella and Madrid. This Saturday, all eyes will turn to the podium at the Petit Stade de l’Est to see whether new faces emerge, familiar names return, and what the final order will be when the event kicks off at 20:00 local time (17:00 CET).

This will be the second visit of the World Championship to Saint-Denis. On the first occasion, back in 2020, Bou took the victory, Busto finished third, and the now-retired Adam Raga claimed second place. Now, the 19-time World Champion heads to the Indian Ocean with a 10-point advantage over Marcelli and 16 points over Busto.

But in Saint-Denis, other top riders will also be looking to make their mark — such as Britain’s Harry Hemingway (Beta) and Jack Peace (Sherco), who both know what it feels like to finish just one step away from the podium, or the experienced Matteo Grattarola (Beta) and Benoit Bincaz (Electric Motion), whose last Top 3 finishes came in Barcelona 2022 and Pamplona 2024 respectively and both aim to repeat that success. Meanwhile, French rider Hugo Dufresse (Beta) approaches the weekend determined to keep showing his progress in this demanding and spectacular discipline — undoubtedly the best indoor motorcycling competition.
