Andorra la Vella ready to receive the World Championship

The Andorran capital opens the second half of the 2023 X-Trial World Championship this weekend

Final preparations are underway at the Poliesportiu d’Andorra, in the heart of the Principality, where the X-Trial World Championship re-opens on the 7th October.

The fourth staging of X-Trial Andorra la Vella will be the first date of the 2023 winter, following on from a 6-month summer break.  The event closed the campaign in 2019 and last year, with local hero Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team) taking the World Championship trophy on each occasion.

In 2022, though, it was Jaime Busto (GasGas) who won the day in the Poliesportiu d’Andorra, and he is Bou’s closest rival for the 2023 crown.  Adam Raga (TRRS), three-times podium finisher at the venue, won on the World Championship’s only visit to Andorra prior to the new era, 20 years ago.  Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team), meanwhile, is targeting his first trip to the rostrum in the Principality.

Toby Martyn (Montesa), Benoit Bincaz (Sherco), Aniol Gelabert (Beta) and Matteo Grattarola, making his first appearance since re-joining Beta, complete the top eight in the Championship and the regular field.  Billy Green (Scorpa) makes his debut as the Wild Card.

This weekend from 18:10 local time our competitors will qualify in five spectacular and demanding sections in each of the first two Rounds, with the top three then taking on six sections in the Grand Final.
