Located in Leeds’ Arena Quarter, the First Direct Arena is a modern, multifunctional venue that has enjoyed worldwide fame and prestige since its inception, as evidenced by its 2014 award for Best New Venue in the World at the Stadium Business Awards.
It was officially inaugurated on September 4, 2013, with a concert by Elton John, and its construction filled a significant gap, as Leeds was one of the major UK cities lacking a large-scale venue of this kind.
The arena can host up to 13,700 spectators and offers various configurations to accommodate all types of events—whether musical, cultural, or sporting. In the latter category, standout events include basketball, boxing, tennis, and wrestling competitions, with the recent addition of the X-Trial, brought by the experienced promoter ML Events.
