Sud de France Arena - January 13, 2018
The Sud de France Arena is the first modern multi-functional arena to have been built in France, and has the second-largest capacity. The venue is situated in the Parc des Expositions, complementing the leisure and training offer of this sizeable facility.
Its location makes it easily accessible both by motorway and by other means of connection: for example, it is situated just two minutes from the Montpellier Méditerranée International Airport.
Inaugurated on 3rd September 2010, its great versatility allows a variety of internal configurations and a range of capacities within a total size of 5,000m². In its layout for sporting events, the capacity can range between 7,500 and 10,000 spectators.
Throughout its history, the venue has hosted a variety of different competitions, from the World Championship of Rhythmic Gymnastics or the European Artistic Gymnastic Championship to tennis tournaments, matches in the European Basketball Championship, and the World Handball Championship. The Sud de France Arena is also host to a multitude of concerts and family music events.
Montpellier has been, throughout the last decade, the scene of various X-Trial events with the participation of world stars of the discipline.
