The Coliseo Ivan de Bedout is one of Medellín’s most historic sporting institutions and one of the key points of interest in the Colombian city. It is located between the boroughs of Cuarta Brigada, Florida Nueva and Suramericana.
It was opened in 1955 and was remodelled in 2010 to create a total capacity of 6,000 spectators. It was further modernised in 2016.
Currently home to the Academia de la Montaña which competes in the top basketball League in the country. The venue hosted the South American Basketball Championship in 1985, as well as the South American Games in 2010 and the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 2016.
